Payment Required: What It Means

Seeing a big modal asking for payment? Don't panic. Here's what's happening and what you can do.

Why You're Seeing This

The "Payment Required" modal appears when:

  • Your free trial has ended and no payment method is on file
  • Your subscription was canceled and the paid period expired
  • A payment failed and wasn't resolved

Your account is temporarily locked until payment is added. But your data is safe — nothing has been deleted.

What You Can Do

If You're the Team Owner

You have two options right in the modal:

  1. Subscribe — Click the button to add payment and restore access immediately
  2. Export My Data — Download all your team data before deciding

The modal shows your current seat count and monthly cost, so you know exactly what you're signing up for.

If You're NOT the Team Owner

You'll see a different message asking you to contact your team owner. The modal will show:

  • The owner's name (if available)
  • The owner's email (clickable to open your email client)

Only team owners can manage billing, so you'll need to reach out to them to resolve this.

The Countdown

The modal shows how many days until your data is scheduled for deletion. This is typically 30 days from when billing was locked.

We're not trying to scare you — we're being transparent. You have time to:

  • Export your data
  • Decide if you want to continue
  • Resubscribe when you're ready

What Happens to Your Data

Timeline Status
Day 1-30 Data preserved, access locked
Day 30+ Data scheduled for cleanup

Even on day 29, you can subscribe and pick up exactly where you left off. All your tickets, customers, and settings will be waiting.

I Can't Afford It Right Now

We get it. Here's what we suggest:

  1. Export your data — Click the export button so you have everything
  2. Take your time — You have 30 days before anything is deleted
  3. Reach out — If you're in a tough spot, let us know. We're human.

Troubleshooting

Modal won't let me do anything?

  • If you're not the owner, you truly can't do anything except contact the owner
  • Try refreshing the page if buttons seem unresponsive

Payment button not working?

  • Check if you have a popup blocker enabled
  • Try a different browser

I just paid but still see the modal?

  • Refresh the page
  • It can take a few seconds for Stripe to confirm
  • If it persists for more than a minute, contact us
