Not for you if…

We'd rather tell you upfront than waste your week. We're built for teams of 1–25 who want a no-BS support tool. If any of these are deal-breakers, you should keep looking.

  • You need SOC 2 Type II today

    We're working on it, but if your AE is sending you a security questionnaire, we're not the move yet. Check back in a year.

  • You have 50+ agents

    The math at $15/seat stays simple, but at that scale you'll want to override workflows we baked in on purpose. ServiceNow or Zendesk Enterprise will serve you better.

  • You handle PHI or need a BAA

    No HIPAA, no BAA, no PHI. Don't ship customer health data through cStar. We'll let you know when this changes.

  • Procurement-heavy buyer

    No custom MSAs, no custom DPAs, no security questionnaires answered one-by-one. Self-serve with a credit card is the path.

  • You want a fully configurable ITSM

    We don't do custom ticket schemas, custom routing engines, or a CMDB. We picked opinions and shipped them. If that sounds wrong, it probably is.

  • You need on-prem or self-hosted

    cStar is SaaS only. Hosted on Vercel + Supabase, multi-tenant. No air-gapped install, no VPC peering, no Docker image to drop in your own cluster.

Quick questions

Free tier?

No. Free tiers train teams to mistreat support agents. $15/seat is already a free tier compared to Zendesk. Trial is 14 days, no card required.

Per-user pricing? Really?

Yes. Per active agent. Customers are unlimited. AI uses your own OpenRouter key, so we never markup tokens.

What if I have 1 agent?

$15/month. Same math. We don't penalize small teams or hide an inbox behind a 3-seat minimum.

Can I get a demo or hop on a call before I sign up?

No sales calls. Not even quick ones. If a question's blocking you, the chat widget at the bottom right is the real cStar. Same product your team would use, answered by the same people who built it. We use cStar to support cStar, and that includes you.

Annual plan? Multi-year discount?

No. Just $15 a month per seat. We don't sell annual commits, and we won't try to talk you into one. Cancel any month.

Any discounts? Startup, nonprofit, friends-of-friends?

No discounts. $15/seat is what we think a support tool should fairly cost, and that's the same number for everyone. The moment we cut it for one team, somebody else is paying more to make up the math. We'd rather skip that game.

Will the price go up later?

Not for existing teams. If you sign up at $15, you stay at $15. We'll tell you, with notice, if anything changes for new teams.

What counts as a "seat"?

An active agent who can sign in and answer tickets. Spectators (read-only) count. End customers do not. Bots running on your API key do not.

Can I import from $TOOL?

Probably. We support one-click imports from Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Help Scout, HubSpot, Front, Crisp, Zoho Desk, and LiveAgent. Five-minute switch.

What about cake?

The cake is a lie. (But every team starts at level 1 with 42 XP available across the daily quest list, so there's that.)
