Everything you need to know about understanding the dashboard.

Understanding the Dashboard

The PetRock.cloud dashboard is the primary interface for managing your rocks. This article walks through each section and explains what you should expect to see.

Layout overview

The dashboard is divided into four primary regions:

  1. Top navigation — Workspace switcher, environment toggle, account menu
  2. Left sidebar — Rocks list, integrations, audit logs, settings
  3. Main canvas — Selected rock detail or workspace overview
  4. Right inspector — Quick actions and metadata for the selected rock

The status indicator

The most prominent element on a rock's detail page is the status indicator, displayed as a colored circle next to the rock name.

Status Color Meaning
Idle Gray Rock is operating as expected. No action required.
Pending Yellow Rock is being provisioned. Typically resolves in under 90 seconds.
Provisioning Failed Red A platform error occurred during adoption. Contact support.
Archived Black The rock has been archived and is no longer billable.

Note: Idle is the optimal steady state. If your rock has displayed Idle continuously for several years, this is correct behavior.

The uptime graph

Below the status indicator, the dashboard displays a 30-day uptime graph. The graph plots availability in 5-minute intervals.

For a healthy rock, the graph will show a flat line at 100% uptime. This reflects that the rock has been continuously available, in the sense that it has continuously existed and not moved.

Hovering over any point on the graph reveals the exact uptime percentage for that interval.

Regional view

The Regions tab shows the physical region your rock is hosted in. You can also see latency measurements between your rock and our regional ping endpoints.

Latency to a rock is not a meaningful metric, since the rock does not respond to requests. The values shown represent the round-trip time to the regional load balancer fronting your rock's tenant.

Settings tabs

The Settings page contains the following tabs:

  • General — Rock name, description, tags
  • API Tokens — Environment-scoped tokens
  • Webhooks — Outbound event subscriptions
  • Integrations — Slack, Zapier, and other connected services
  • Billing — Plan, payment method, invoices
  • Audit Log — Read-only history of administrative actions
  • Danger Zone — Archive or delete a rock

Customizing the dashboard

You can rearrange the sidebar, hide the uptime graph, and toggle dark mode from Settings → Preferences. Preferences are stored per user, not per workspace.
